This course is designed to introduce the drinking water operator to the varied and complex world of water filtration. This is an introductory course and information is limited, though the operator is encouraged to pursue addition information apart from this course.
Filtration is defined as passing water through a media to remove physical and/or chemical contaminants through absorption, adsorption, ion exchange, and physical straining. Filtration is used in removing contaminants from surface water, to remove chemicals from groundwater, and to removed solids from water in the laboratory. This course explains the many types of filters, their uses, and their advantages and disadvantages.
There will be a lot of discussion and examples. All are welcome and I look forward to meeting new friends and seeing old friends. The cost of this six-hour course (0.6 CEU's) is $150.00, and of course refreshments are provided
